RPO (Recovery Point Objective): The last backup before the disaster. Tells how much time in data is lost RTO (Recovery Time Objective): The time where systems are active again. It shows the downtime
Strategies:
- Backup & Restore (High RPO): Cheaper
- Pilot Light: It means having a small version of critical apps always running on cloud.
- Warm Standby: Full system up and running, but at a minimum size
- Multi-site/Hot-site: Very low RTO, very expensive
